The mealworm beetle, Tenebrio Molitor, is a species of darkling beetle. Like all holometabolic insects, they go through four life stages: egg, larvae, pupa and adult. Mealworm larvae typically measure about .75 inch or less, whereas adults are generally between .25 to .50 inch in length.
